Ellsworth Kelly – Madison Museum of Contemporary Art
Explore the art prints of famed contemporary artist, Ellsworth Kelly, at the new Ellsworth Kelly exhibit at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. This important American artist incorporates bold colors, rich textures and interesting shapes inspired by the natural world. The Ellsworth Kelly Prints exhibit offers a unique 50- year retrospective look at Kelly's accomplished printmaking process and the results that feature dynamic geometry of squares, angles, and curves. Highlights of the exhibit include Kelly's first edition print entitled "Red Blue," his striking "Rivers" print series and his early lithograph, "Red-Orange Yellow Blue." If you're unfamiliar with Kelly's work, or you'd simply like to learn more about the artist, the museum is offering free drop-in tours led by MMoCA docents who will take you on an informational, guided walk through the exhibit. The Ellsworth Kelly Prints exhibit will be on display through April 28th. The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is open Tuesday-Thursday, noon-5 pm; Friday, noon-8 pm; Saturday, 10am-8pm;Sunday, noon-5pm. Admission to the MMoCA is free.
